9.00 am:Bandh fails to get natural response, Congress men attempting their best to enforce it

Ahmedabad, 6 September 2013

There’s hardly any response to Congress’s bandh call in most parts of the state at this time. Traffic is normal, state transport and AMTS buses are on road and educational institutes are open. As there was no natural response in most parts of the state, the Congress workers were seen moving college to college, school to school, and market to market to enforce the bandh.

In an attempt to forcefully impose the bandh, Congress goons in the morning stormed Keka Shastri college in Khokhra area and vandalized the campus. There are reports that NSUI workers burnt tyres in couple of schools in Jamnagar and created ruckus to forcefully impose bandh. Attempts to force shut down of colleges are reported from some campuses in Surat too.

Some Congress goons pelted stones on AMTS buses in Muslim majority area of Shahpur and Khanpur where Muslim MLA of Congress is elected. This was an attempt to stop the AMTS buses. BRTS buses were stopped in CTM area and in one or two cases passengers were forced to leave the buses.

Around two dozen Congress workers tried to stop a train on meter gauge track near sleepy Vastrapur railway station. They were detained by police and normal rail traffic was resumed.

Police detained several Congress workers in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Porbandar, Patan, Dahod and other places.

100% bandh claims Modhwadia at 8.30 am!

Modhwadia in his talk to TV news agency declared success of the bandh call even before 9.00 am! He said bandh call was 100% successful. He said he was receiving calls from all over the state about success of bandh.

Now wasn’t this too early to declare success? And that too 100%? Well, that’s Gujarat Congress.
