His fan gifts Rs. 7 lakh car to poet Khalil Dhantejvi on 75th birthday

A fan of well-known poet Shri Khalil Dhantejvi presented him a Maruti Swift car worth Rs. 7 lakh in ‘Amrut mahotsav’ felicitation function held in Vadodara on Friday in presence of Shri Morari Bapu. The felicitation event was organized on 75th birth anniversary of Shri Dhantejvi. Key of the new car was presented to Shri Dhantejvi by his fan Anil Brahmbhatt’s wife Sangitaben.

Speaking at a fully attended function in Sayajirao town hall Shri Morari Bapu said, “today, poets are denied loan, but here for the first time a poet has been gifted Rs. 7 lakh car. This shows true appreciation of a poet.”

Shri Morari Bapu further said that a poet enjoys seven properties: saral, sabal, sajal, sadal, sakal, safal and swapnil.

Shri Dhantejvi whose ghazals are also sung by late Shri Jagjitsingh recalled that during the 2002 riots, it was Morari Bapu who called him and offered arrangement to relocate him to safe house in Talgajarda. Dhantejvi remembered his god father Manibhai Shah(Vasanvala) who elevated him to the stage.

Shri Dhantejvi recited a line कितना है अजीब सिलसीला उसकी मुहोब्बतका, न उसने कैदमे रख्खा न हम फ़रर हो पाए on this occasion.

Prof. Markand Bhatt, Dr. Rashid Meer, Chinu Modi, Raish Maniar, Minalben Patel, Gunvant Shah graced the function.

Shri Dhantejvi recited his poetry during the function. His new book ‘Dhire bol’ was launched here.
