BJP MLA Harsh Sanghvi, former Surat Mayor Rajesh Desai and 40 BJP workers are booked by Surat’s Umra police for violation of notification and other offenses.
On Friday evening, a group of BJP workers was celebrating Shri Narendra Modi’s selection as PM candidate of BJP. Party workers were distributing sweets and bursting crackers on road. However they were interrupted by Police sub inspector Z.I.Sheikh. After some verbal arguments there was a brief clash between party men and PSI Sheikh. Later PSI Sheikh insisted to enter the event in station diary.
As it involves a sitting BJP MLA and former Mayor, the issue is talk of the town here.
