Ganesh immersion processions attacked in Vadodara

Yesterday’s Ganesh Visarjan festival was not completely peaceful in Vadodara. The Ganesh immersion processions were attacked at at least two places in Vadodara late in the evening.
The visarjan yatra was attacked by some Muslim youths with stones at Vadi-Taiwada road at around 10 pm. This caused damage to one Ganesh murti. Some women and children were injured in this incident. DCP(Crime) and DCP(South) rushed to the place and managed to send injured people to medical facility in police vehicle.
In other incident, the yatra was attacked at Jamnabai hospital street. Stones were pelted over Ladwada yuvak mandal’s procession by a group of Muslims.
It has to be noted that Vadodara is the city where a group of Muslims had organized dharna with Osama Bin Laden’s posters in hand a few years back.
