The Mumbai CBI team today questioned IPS AK Sharma and IAS GC Murmu for around an hour and half in connection with the Ishrat Jahan encounter case probe. It is believed that the CBI team also conducted voice spectrography test of Murmu and Sharma.
It is believed that the questioning was regarding the audio tapes the IPS officer on bail GL Singhal had submitted to Central Bureau of investigation (CBI) in Ishrat case. The Tehelka report claims the minister of state for Home Praful Patel, Singhal, Gujarat advocate-general Kamal Trivedi, senior IAS officer GC Murmu, Singhal’s lawyer Rohit Verma, then MoS (law) Pradipsinh Jadeja and another accused police officer, Tarun Barot. The JCP of the city crime branch, AK Sharma, were present at the meeting on November 19, 2011 in which strategy to counter the SIT was allegedly discussed.
