Gujarat Police purchases varieties of non-lethal soft weapons

The Gujarat Police has purchased a few varieties of non-lethal soft weapons mainly to deal with mobs.
Police units in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot are recently allotted soft non-lethal weapons like shock shields, lessor riot control gun, shock batons, extension batons and shock belt.
According to Ahmedabad city headquarter joint police commissioner Shri Sanjay Srivastav, the weapons are purchased from a private firm based in Delhi for pilot project.
Shock shields: The crowd will feel electric current if barricade is touched.
Shock baton: It gives powerful electric shock.
Laser weapons: It makes criminal unconscious for some time.
Rubber ball launcher: It has capacity of long range fire. It can take target precisely.
Shock belt: Criminal is asked to wear it. If he tries to escape, police can press remote control button and give shock to criminal.
Aerial control weapon: Effective against violent mob. It is equipped with high power facing light.
