Heavy rain throughout the night in Amdavad, underpasses closed, water logging, school/colleges closed

Update: Rain stopped at around 9.00 and water started receding imidiately, some underpasses were reopened. The situation was near normal at around 11.00 am

There has been heavy rain in the city of Ahmedabad throughout the night. Water logging is reported in many areas. Parents are not sending their children to morning schools. It has come to notice that the District Education Officer has officially asked schools and colleges to remain closed today. Exams are postponed. Three underpasses namely Parimal, Akhbarnagar and Mithakhali are closed for traffic. The satellite picture presented above shows what was the situation of sky in Gujarat at midnight. The satellite picture below shows the situation early in the morning at around 5.00 am IST.
