Step closer to BJP-TDP pre-poll alliance,Chandrababu Naidu shares stage with Narendra Modi, praises him

New Delhi, 2 October 2013

“When I was in power, people talked about Hyderabad. After 2004, they now talk about Gujarat,” Telgu Desam Party(TDP) chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said today at a function organized at Thyagaraj Sports Complex in Delhi.

Shri Naidu in his speech mentioned that Mahatma Gandhi and Narendra Modi both belong to Gujarat.

Naidu was sharing stage with Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi here at a Culmination Convention organized by Manthan , a youth movement to set the agenda for 2014 polls. Manthan is an initiative of Citizens for Accountable Governance ( CAG), a not-for-profit organization which was launched this year.

Naidu in his speech praised the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government between 1996 and 2004. He said the current UPA government inherited good governance from the NDA but they came to be known for corruption, inefficiency and policy paralysis and Congress must be defeated if the country has to be saved from more sufferings. Naidu said that the UPA government’s mismanagement has thrown back the country to the pre-1991 era when India’s average growth rate was 4 per cent. Between 1947 and 1991, the nation was mostly ruled by Congress and the growth rate was just 4 per cent. The TDP-UF and NDA government kickstarted the growth engine in India while UPA misused the global economic boom of 2004. The 2014 polls gives us a great opportunity to take country back to 2004, he said.

“the current UPA government inherited good governance from the NDA but they came to be known for corruption, inefficiency and policy paralysis,” said Naidu speaking at the Culmination Convention of Manthan, a youth movement to set the agenda for 2014 polls. The event was organised by Citizens for Accountable Governance, an NGO, at Thyagaraj Sports Complex in Delhi, Coming down heavily on the Congress, Naidu said that “Congress must be defeated if the country has to be saved from more sufferings.”

On Rahul Gandhi, Shri Naidu said, “he(Rahul) criticizes the prime minister when he is away but we all know Manmohan Singh is a puppet in the hands of Sonia Gandhi. Rahul was well aware of the ordinance.”

Shri Naidu attacked Congress over price rise, law and order, Uttarakhand response, power sector, jobs. He accused Congress led govt in centre of loot and described the current situation in the country as national crisis.

He said, “I am giving open call. Congress should be defeated, and only then India can prosper. Else we will have to suffer.”

He described Prime Minister as a tool of Sonia Gandhi.

Shri Naidu recalled his days in power when Bill Clinton and Tony Blaire visited Hyderabad, a new Cyberabad was added to the state, Hyderabad convention centre and airport were built.
