October 07, 2013

Lucknow, 7 October 2013
After different kinds of excuses and yes/no for nearly two weeks, Kanpur district administration has finally given permission to local unit of BJP to organize a rally of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi on October 19 at the social welfare department grounds opposite Gautam Buddha park in Indra Nagar near Kalyanpur.
This development was shared by Surendra Maithani, Kanpur district BJP chief.
BJP had earlier sought Railway Grounds in Nirala Nagar, but the Railways refused permission. BJP then selected Phool Bagh maidan for the rally, but the district administration said it has prohibited use of the ground for political meetings.
Kanpur will thus host Shri Narendra Modi’s first of total nine rallies.
