Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi will launch a book written by former Union minister Arun Shourie on October 18 in Chennai. The function will be held at Madras university auditorium.
The earlier venue of Music Academy has been shifted due to security reasons after arrest of Fakruddin, a suspected terrorist last Friday.
Fakruddin told police that he had visited Gujarat along with another wanted militant Abubakar Sidique to do a recce on Modi. Fakruddin had earlier targeted L. K. Advani two years ago during the his Jan chetana yatra near Madurai.
Fakruddin and his associates, Bilal Malik and Panna Ismail, were allegedly involved in the murder of Vellaiyappan, a Hindu Munnani activist in Vellore and BJP leader auditor Ramesh of Salem.
Police officers said they didn’t want to take risk by allowing Modi’s programme at Music Academy because it is located near a flyover. The militant group, which is having allegiance with the banned outfit Al Uma, may have some other members who are planning some sabotage
