Recommended: two latest interview videos of Amit Shah

New Delhi, 21 October 2013

To know why Amit Shah is Amit Shah, one needs to watch his this latest interview.

-Only results will show whether I can tackle Uttar Pradesh politics or not. My party will emerge as the largest single party in results.

-I am not someone special for Modi. Whoever works hard is considered good.

-Anti-incumbency is there in Uttar Pradesh, thus the mood of change is there. It is against the state government and the government in Delhi both. Anti-incumbency is on its peak and if there’s highest urge for change it is in Uttar Pradesh.

-31 cases against terrorists are recommended to made free by state government. Even in day-to-day tasks appeasement is visible. I don’t need to say anything, the level of appeasement going on in Uttar Pradesh itself is pushing Hindus to one side.

-Lets the case go to the court. Why clippings are in focus, why failure of taking prompt actions is not in focus? Why one-sided actions are not in focus? Police first see what is your religion, and then work there in Uttar Pradesh.

-Leaving media, no-one else in our party including our party president said that Ram Mandir is our election agenda. I told in Ayodhya that I prayed at Ayodhya for construction of grand Ram mandir. That was my personal right.

-BJP will give voice to people who are facing injustice – whoever they are.

-BJP doesn’t consider Modiji as leader of particular class. At the same time it is fact that he belongs to a backward class. I bet during last 12 years rule in Gujarat, OBCs are happiest in Gujarat compared to all other states.

-Modi is Chief Minister for last 13 years without any challenge politically or public wise. As per Sachchar commission report, Muslims are happiest in Gujarat compared to other states. People will vote for development. Benefits of good power infrastructure, highways etc reach all including Muslims.

-Amit Shah makes no difference to Uttar Pradesh prospects, but Modi makes difference. People see solution of their issues in Narendra Modi.

-Party will take decision that on which seat Modi should fight the elections.

-I am assigned Uttar Pradesh because I have lot of time. There’s no other reason why I think I am assigned this job.

-I am not worried about fake charge-sheet. Uttar Pradesh has many party men. In my 49 years life I never faced any case. About this case, even Supreme Court has prima facie accepted that CBI failed to put forward any prima facie case against me.

-Vanzara has never said they were fake encounters. Police officers work as per CRPC, and that is Gujarat government’s policy. Vanzara has said that those killed in encounters were criminals.

-Once court case is over, only then the face will be clear whether they were fake encounters or not.

-The time phase in which I was home minister, the nation witnessed 1500 encounters. Uttar Pradesh saw highest encounters followed by Maharashtra and Bihar. Even under the central government regime in Delhi several encounters took place. Gujarat is fourth from bottom. Out of these 1500 encounters, only 18 are probed, and 17 among them are from Gujarat. Why other 1485 are not probed? Well Gujarat encounters are probed because Narendra Modi is Chief Minister and Amit Shah was home minister there.

In this video, the middle part is mistakingly repeated. This interview doesn’t discuss the issue of encounter cases. Shri Shah in this video says that 80% task in Uttar Pradesh was completed by leaders before his arrival. He just has to do rest 20% tasks. Shri Shah narrates how BJP is the main party fighting with three different parties – SP in Avadh, BSP in western Uttar Pradesh, and SP, BSP and Congress in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Shri Shah says that he is able to work smoothly with all leaders in Uttar Pradesh because he doesn’t belong to Uttar Pradesh and theretofore he has no vested interests here. Shah says the failure of central government, and an option of having an able leader like Narendra Modi – both factors are working in BJP’s favor. He says 180 seats is a magic figure. Political parties don’t open their cards well in advance, but if after the elections BJP gets 180 seats, rest of the things will be in place.
