Supply CNG to Gujarat at rates on par with other states by 18 November: Gujarat High Court to centre

Ahmedabad, 25 October 2013
The Gujarat High Court today refused to entertain government of India’s proposal to give 16 weeks time to implement a one year old court order pertaining to supply of CNG gas to Gujarat at rates on par with other states.
The High Court asked government of India to start supplying CNG gas to Gujarat at cheaper rates by 18 November. Otherwise the secretary in the Union Petroleum Ministry would have to appear before the court, the bench said.
As the Supreme Court has rejected its plea in this case, the centre has no other option, but to start supplying CNG at cheaper rate to Gujarat in a period prescribed by the High Court today. In that case, CNG will be cheaper by around Rs. 20 in Gujarat.
