Vipul Chaudhary sits at Narendra Modi's feetVipul Chaudhary, Chairman of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which owns the Amul brand today touched Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s feet on new year day. The way Chaudhary sat on the ground, bend before him and touched Modi’s feet with his head clearly showed that Chaudhary was not just seeking Modi’s blessings but also seeking Modi to forgive him.

Chaudhary met Congress vice president and unofficial prime minister candidate of Congress party Shri Rahul Gandhi during Rahul’s Ahmedabad visit. Rahul was in Gujarat University Convention hall to address a function of Gujarat Media Club. Chaudhary was invited by media club and he reached there. Chaudhary who is with BJP, not only attended the function but also briefly talked with Rahul.

Anger against Chaudhary in GCMMF was already boiling with several allegations against him. Chaudhary’s talk with Rahul Gandhi was widely reported in local media. This created an impression that Chaudhary would be no more in good book of powerful state leadership. In last week of October, the board of GCMMF decided to consider a resolution of no-confidence against Chaudhary following a strongly worded note from Managing Director RS Sodhi to Chaudhary, alleging that Chaudhary taken damaging decisions without taking the board into confidence.

If board meeting was held, Chaudhary’s exit was certain, because majority of board members were against him. However Chaudhary managed to get the board to call off the meeting to consider the vote for no-confidence through the Gujarat High Court stay till November 11.

Chaudhary today came to Chief Minister’s Gujarati new year day public function, and surprisingly sat on the stage to touch Modi’s feet with own head. Modi reacted to Chaudhary’s gesture with smile. He pat on his back and touched Chaudhary’s cheeks with both hands, and thus gave relief to worrying Chaudhary.
