Unprecedented security cover to Modi’s November 8 Bahraich rally
November 05, 2013

Lucknow, 15 November 2013
The Uttar Pradesh Police today took over the protection of Narendra Modi’s November 8 Bahraich rally. The rally ground at Bahraich is not opened to common people now. Only BJP workers and office bearers with valid identification are allwoed at the rally ground. Laborers who work for stage and other arrangements are given identity cards.
A team of Gujarat Police is camping in Bahraich to hold advance security liason drills with Uttar Pradesh Police. The police teams want to take no chance after the serial blasts at Modi’s rally in Patna in October, which killed six people and injured 100.
The security forces will also put an anti-mine checking procedure in place. Metal detectors will be installed at all entry points of the venue. A police outpost with around 8 to 10 cops has come up on the evening of the Patna rally blast itself. Around 10 bigha agricultural land has been rechristened Suheldev ground by the BJP.
Modi would be addressing the Bahraich rally at 1.30 pm. He is expected to reach Bahraich at 1 pm by helicopter from Amausi airport in the state capital. Security forces are not willing to take any chances since the district falls on Nepal border. Nepal has been known to be a safe haven and gateway for several terrorists in the past. IG and DIG level officers from Gujarat police would be reaching Bahraich on Wednesday to supervise security arrangements for Modi’s rally.
Times of India quoted IB sources as saying that ISI allegedly had gathered Khalistani terrorists to eliminate Modi who has been holding rallies across India. Khalistani terrorists are believed to be the newest weapon of ISI who uses the militants to fulfill goals of the spy agency.
