Chhattisgarh will go ahead of Gujarat : Narendra Modi

Jagdalpur, 7 November 2013

Addressng a public meeting in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi today said that Chhattisgarh will go ahead of Gujarat if Singh gets five more years to lead the state as a CM.

Modi said, “Raman Singh worked for poor. Made schemes that helped the poor. I urge you to come out and vote in large numbers and vote for the Lotus.”

Modi said, “Now times have changed. Do not vote for caste or creed but vote for development. Vote a Government that does good for you and your future generations and that can be done by BJP and Raman Singh.”

“It was your foresight that you kept Congress away from Chhattisgarh else the state would be ruined under Congress. It is one Chhattisgarh that has gone ahead in the last 10 years. Reason was your vision that gave state political stability,” he added.

“I remember and bow to Atal Bihari Vajpayee who created the state of Chhattisgarh. He was concerned for poor, marginalized, tribals,” he added.

“I have had the opportunity to Travel across Chhattisgarh when I was working for the organization.” Criticizing Congress for its apathy towards the state, Modi said, “Congress was not bothered about this region. It was as if it was a picnic spot.”

Modi said the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh had accepted that there may have been security lapses that led to the gruesome attack on Congress leaders in Darbha and had personally visited the family of slain leaders, displaying compassion.

Hitting out at Nitish Kumar, Modi said, “But on the other hand, such a big terror attack on BJP rally, but forget regret the Bihar govt laid out a chappan bhog banquet.”

“Bihar Chief Minister didn’t show any remorse for Patna blasts. He was arrogant and smiling while speaking about the issue…That’s the difference between a sensitive leader (Dr Raman Singh) and an uncaring (Bihar) government,” he added.

Modi also took aim at Rahul Gandhi and chided him for taking credit for the Food Security Act. “The sahzada is fooling people by taking credit for it; Chhattisgarh government was the first to introduce food security in the country,” he said.
