Keshubhai skips GPP’s Gujarati new year function, Kotadia says GPP-BJP merger certain

Ahmedabad, 11 November 2013

It was Gujarat Parivartan Party(GPP)’s Gujarati new year get-together function at party headquarters in Ahmedabad today, but party president Keshubhai Patel was absent.

Not only Keshubhai, but GPP’s only MLA other than Keshubhai Shri Nalin Kotadia was also absent.

Political pandits have time and again predicted Keshubhai’s re-entry to BJP in near future. Today’s development gives further push to such predictions.

In recent past, Keshubhai skipped GPP’s Rohit community function citing health reasons, but on same date in same city he attended Shri Somnath trust’s meeting with Advani and Modi. Even in the last assembly session, Keshubhai and GPP’s only other MLA Shri Kotadia didn’t join Congress MLAs in any protest against the government.

Keshubhai Patel led Gujarat Parivartan Party(GPP) MLA Nalinbhai Kotadia today clearly said that Keshubhai and he skipped GPP’s Gujarati new year get-together function due to differences with other GPP leaders over proposed GPP-BJP merger.

“We are going to merge our party(GPP) with BJP, and talks are going on in this regard. We skipped the function today therefore. We are originally from BJP, and due to some problems we left BJP, but now when the son of Gujarat Narendra Modi is playing national role, we are ready to forget everything and have already completed all the issues pertaining to merger of GPP with BJP.”
