National Highway Authority of India(NHAI) has finally taken a decision that it will not collect toll tax from vehicles at Zadeshwar toll booth on national highway 8 near Bharuch till ongoing repair work of Sardar bridge is over. The repair work is likely to complete in December this year. NHAI has to take this decision following massive local protest over frequent traffic jam due to toll collection. The locals led by BJP MLA of Bharuch twice forced shut down of toll booth in last one week. Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat and national leader of Congress party Ahmed Patel met Prime Minister last week over this issue requesting him to halt toll collection till the time Sardar bridge is repaired.
