Gujarat town observes strike against growing misuse of SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act-1989

Kutch district’s Samakhiali town observed strike on Monday and Tuesday protesting against misuse of Atrocity act.
All traders and businessmen barring medicine shops went on complete strike for two days.
According to their representation made before police officials, menace of misuse of atrocity act is becoming more and more problematic day-by-day. Anti-social elements who issues threats and misuse the act should face actions.
The traders had announced indefinite strike. However after assurance received by Collector they withdrew the strike call today.
