SMC to use Micro surfacing method for durability of roads

Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) will use Micro surfacing method to prevent frequent spending on carpeting-recarpeting of roads.
Five road stretches are selected to execute pilot project on this line. They are – Rander, Tadvadi to Choksi Vadi road, Ghod dod road, Anand Mahal road, Sumul dairy road and New Bhatar road.
Micro surfacing method involves a 6-7 mm layer of that has mixture of cold asphalt, grit and a special chemical. A special machine is used for layering work. Thanks to this layer, the road doesn’t accept water. The method has been used at Ahmedabad-Vadodara expressway and various roads in Delhi.
