Ahmedabad, 29 November 2013
Film actor Paresh Rawal has reconfirmed that a film on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will be made.
Rawal during a recent conversation said, Mihir Bhuta is writing a script. Once the final script is ready, director’s name will be decided. As of now Director’s name is not decided.
Rawal said the film on Narendra Modi will be difficult to make because biopics are made when a person is not living, or his active career is over. But here is Narendra Modi who is miles way from full stop.
On speculations that the film will release just before the Lok Sabha general elections, Rawal said that the film release will happen anytime to connect his personality, his works, his ideology to people. He said this film is not expiry date medicine that one should have only before March 2014. People will continue to take interest in this person’s life with great curiosity even after March 2014.
Thus Rawal indicated that the film may release even after the Lok Sabha general elections.
Shri Rawal also confirmed that a film based on Ahmedabad based Saumya Joshi’s play 102 Not-out is planned. He said this play is not just play but it is poetry in play or play in poetry. He said Saumya Joshi is a poet whose work is never superficial, it is always balanced, there’s no indulgence and it provides insight. He said Saumya has completed script of pre-interval portion and the film is expected to go on floor in April or May next year. He said the film will have Amitabh Bachchan and Paresh Rawal and it will be directed by Oh My God fame Director Umesh Shukla.
Rawal during his talk indicated some planning on a film based on his popular Gujarati play ‘Dear Father’.
