Campaigning ends in Delhi, Surat West
December 02, 2013

Ahmedabad, 2 December 2013
The campaigning in all assembly constituencies in Delhi and Surat-West assembly seat in Gujarat has come to an end at 5 p.m. on Monday. Now the candidates will spend time on door-to-door canvassing till the voting takes place Dec 4.
The voting on December 4 will take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and the counting of votes will be held Dec 8. The main fight on Surat(West) seat is between Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Surat-West is traditionally a safe seat for BJP. It was represented by BJP MLA late Shri Kishor Vankawala. City BJP unit president Purnesh Modi’s victory with comfortable margin is just a matter of time.
Surat-West legislative assembly election is special for political pandits in Gujarat because Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) for the first time will have ‘None of the Above’ (NOTA) option for voters who don’t want to vote for any of the representatives. It has to be seen that how many voters actually use NOTA button. The figure will provide some idea about future trend of NOTA use in Gujarat elections.
