-The 2014 polls will not be contested by political party. Leadership of year 2014 polls will be taken by not one person, but by people of this nation. Voters will contest 2014 polls.

-Five years are gone. They just convened three meetings and did nothing to clean river Ganga. They are talking about cleaning of Gaga since Rajiv Gandhi’s era. They can just give hollow promises. Those who can’t handle Ganga can’t handle nation. Please come to Ahmedabad and look at our Sabarmati river. Tasks can be executed, things can be changed, we have showed it.

-We are not here with just promises, we are here with willingness. Nation is fade up with promises. Nation heard lot of talking, lot of discourse, we have intentions, and we are able to execute them.

-Some people think that importance of Uttar Pradesh in Indian politics is just because the fact that without UP, one can’t form government in center. So is Uttar Pradesh just important for more number of MPs? Is Uttar Pradesh just important for formation of government? I don’t look at Uttar Pradesh with such negative approach. Uttar Pradesh is important because without if India can’t have stable government. It is important because without UP’s development, India’s development is impossible. If Uttar Pradesh remains unemployed, one can’t remove unemployment from India. If UP’s Ganga Yamuna banks don’t produce farm products, one can’t remove hunger from this country.

-Uttar PRadesh should not be linked just with the number of its MPs. Uttar Pradesh can build fortune of Idia. Uttar Pradesh can be a powerful engine for nation’s development.

-Uttar Pradesh is not political play ground for BJP. It is the land crucial to achieve India’s development.

-This is the land where Ram Rajya was conceived. Your ancestors had some quality that they got Ram Rajya. The problem with you is that you have not elected right government, right leader.

-On Lal Bahadur Shastri’s call, the farmers of Uttar Pradesh demonstrated determination and filled stomach of this country.

-Farmers of Uttar Pradesh alone can fill the stomach of whole of Europe.

Modi raised the issue of Chinese yarn import and Banarasi saree industry. In this context he also spoke about connection between Banarasi and Surti saree industries. Modi spoke about how in Gujarat, government jobs are given on merit, contrary to situation in other parts of country where one has to apply influence to get government job.

Modi visits Kashi Vishwanath Temple & Sankat Mochan Temple in Varanasi

Before addressing the Vijay Shankhnaad Rally at Rajatalab Mirzamurad Khajuri in Varanasi today, Shri Narendra Modi, along with BJP President Rajnath Singh, took blessings of Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva, at the famous Sankatmochan Temple and Kashi Vishwanath Temple, respectively.

In his meeting with Prof. Vishwambhar Nath Mishra, the Mahanth of Sankatmochan temple, Shri Modi was apprised of issues including the plight of Ganga and the reality of Ganga Action Plan. At the Kashi Vishwanath temple, Shri Modi performed Dugdhabhishek of Lord Shiva under the guidance of Pt. Shrikant Sharma, who also gave him the traditional ang-vastram.
