Maharashtra is our elder brother. Gujarat is younger brother. But when Gujarat was separated, it was discussed that how this state will progress. It has not water, natural resources, industry, but when we separated we had nothing, but today Gujarat has touched new heights of development and proved that common man’s good is possible, common man’s welfare is possible, situations can be changed.

I was looking at Gujarat and Maharashtra, and perhaps media friends have not observed perhaps – even I had not observed – I just observed it yesterday that Gujarat emerged as a separate state on 1st May 1960 and Maharashtra too. In all these years, Gujarat had 14 Chief Ministers but Maharashtra had 26 Chief Ministers. Now tell me, how would be the politics here? How would be the political conduct here?

One Chief Minister comes, and the other try to pull him down. Till the time we don’t understand the character of Congress party, we will not be able to solve the problems of this nation. People of this nation, geography, history, natural resources are not responsible for problems of this nation. The reason of our problems are Congress governments. And if you want freedom from problems, the nation will be needed to make Congress-free.

This is the land of Mumbai where freedom struggle was announced with the slogan of quit India, and Britishers had to leave India. From same land of Mumbai once again a slogan of ‘Congress free India’ should emerge.

Congress divide society for vote bank politics. This has been their specialty. During their struggle against Britishers, Congress learnt this tactic of divide and rule. India was divided in three parts. On one hand Sardar Patel united India, and on the other hand Congress sow seeds of divide between urban and rural, brothers with brothers, communities, Their vote bank politics stays safe through such tactics. Till the time we don’t liberate our nation from vote bank politics, and don’t push this nation to politics of development, our problems will not solve.

BJP has proved through its governance, its record that BJP is committed to development politics. Without development, villages, deprived, dalits are not going to get anything. Madhya Pradesh was considered as backward state (bimaru rajya) but under the leadership of Shivrajsingh Chouhan, MP is free from blot of bimaru rajya. Madhya Pradesh government under Shri Chouhan expanded irrigation network and now MP and Chhattisgarh are contributing majorly to nation’s wheat and rice stock.

Why Maharashtra farmers have to face scarcity, why they have to commit suicide. If there was BJP government committed to mantra of development, Maharashtra could not see thousands of suicides of farmers. Congress party has no faith in politics of development. Congress is in power in Maharashtra, Congress is in power in India, but when they deliver speech, they speak like they speak about someone else’s government.

I heard Congress leader’s speech yesterday(referring to Rahul Gandhi’s FICCI speech) and he was speaking about corruption. I wondered! On one hand he was giving speech on corruption with innocent face, and on other hand, Adarsh scam report was out. Maharashtra government tries to save their leaders from corruption charges. And at the same time a Congress leader was speaking about (need to counter)corruption. They say something and do something else.

Congress is committed to minoritism and communalism. 90 districts where Muslims have major presence are given special schemes. Recently when asked in parliament, the government of India replied they have not spent a single penny under the schemes for minority in these districts for last three years!

In the name of abolition of octroi, Maharashtra government imposed Local Body Tex(LBT). LBT is nothing bot Loot Baatne ki Technique. In Delhi, the leaders were speaking about black money. Someone please tell me, they are in government, isn’t it their responsibility to remove black money or not? You may ask any citizen of India, and he would reply that where these thieves and looters keep black money. Even children know that they keep black money in Swiss banks.

All BJP MPs under the leadership of Advaniji gave in writing that none of the BJP leaders has money deposited in Swiss banks. No one from Congress is ready to give such admission in writing. Those who speak about black money should make a law to bring back black money deposited in foreign countries.

I was watching on news channels that chaiwalas are given VIP passes to attend this rally. Not only chaiwala, every poor person is going to be treated as VIP soon. For us, each poor person is VIP and not just chaiwala. I heard in a speech recently that the government has forced shut down of cable TV because Modi is speaking. I face this everywhere in non-BJP state. They don’t want people to see Modi. But let my Congress friends know that it makes no difference whether Modi is seen on TV or not, Modi has secured his place in the hearts of the people of this country. Let my Congress friends know that they can lock TVs, but not hearts of people.

World’s youngest nation can do what not? Youths should get work. They should get chance to live with dignity. But government in Delhi has no scheme for skill development. Committees are formed under the leadership of PM, but meetings are not convened for three years. Poor labour should be given dignity. ‘Shram-ev-Jayate’ should be mantra for country. In Gujarat, we have opened the gates of ITI students to diploma and degree engineering colleges.

Should this country free from corruption? Can we make this country free from corruption? (Modi gave you an example of a check post on Gujarat/Maharashtra border. )

Modi spoke about importance of influence for getting jobs in other states and gave an example of govt recruitment in Gujarat: We had to recruit teachers. We had to recruit 13,000 teachers.We didn’t conduct interview. We asked them to submit their details in computers. We asked computer to make a list of 13,000 with highest marks and sent appointment letters to their homes. If we are willing to change the situation, we can change the situation.

Do you get 24 hours power here? We in Gujarat get 24 hours power. I traveled to Saputara and from there to Shirdi. I saw a sign board on highway and asked locals how to identify which village in Gujarat and which village is in Maharashtra? They replied, villages in dark are in Maharashtra, and village with lights on are in Gujarat.

For last five years, Delhi based Congress government is not permitting installation of gates on Narmada dam. I have requested PM to give permission. I urge people here to put pressure on Maharashtra CM to influence centre. If Sardar Sarovar gets gates, Maharashtra can get Rs. 400 crore power for free.

Modi recalled Lokmanya Tilak and said he gave slogan – ‘Swaraj is our birth right’, now there’s need to raise slogan that ‘Surajya is our birth right.’

Modi said the central government and the Maharashtra government failed to celebrate 100 years of film industry properly. Modi also stressed on need for a full fledged film university in Mumbai.
