Five members of 10,000-member-strong Karnavati Club today alleged they were beaten up by Karnavari Club President Girish Dani’s goons and bouncers after Annual General Meeting(AGM) held today at club premises. Three of them were hospitalized in Life-Care hospital after the incident. One of them Rajesh Brahmbhatt has filed complaint in this regard in Sarkhej police station.

The members alleged that Girish Dani who doesn’t want to loose control of the club today completed AGM within minutes and declared all motions passed, following which the opponent Ajay Patel group’s members registered protest. Further clash between two groups resulted into hospitalization of three allegedly injured members of Ajay Patel group.

The Ajay Patel group decided to file police complaint. Ajay Patel group will also start signature campaign covering 568 members who attended the AGM today. The members will be asked whether they were in consent with motions passed in AGM today.

The AGM started today under the leadership of Secretary Girish Dani. Anil Shah, a member of Ajay Patel group opposed Girish Dani as conductor of the meeting. Shah said only President can conduct the meeting. When president Jayanti Patel is present, how secretary Dani can conduct the AGM proceedings? Dani replied there’s no rule suggesting so. He told Shah that he only will conduct the meeting. Anil Shah later asked Dani, how many members were present in the meeting. Dani replied that 568 members were present. After this, Dani started conducting meeting. Ajay Patel group members led by Anil Shah started opposing Dani’s role. Dani and his supporters shut down the mic and passed all the motions in few moments. After Ajay Patel group’s protest. There was a clash in which Ajay Patel group was on receiving end.

Three members of Ajay patel group, namely Anil Shah, Rajesh Brahmbhatt and Viral Patel were allegedly injured in this incident.They were taken to Life care hospital in 108 ambulance. Girish Dani, Paresh Dani, Gimmy Patel, Chirag Patel and Shoeb Patel are named as those who attacked.

Ajay Patel group alleged that apprehending clash, they had submitted an application to police demanding protection. Even Police Commissioner and DCP were requested for protection. Actually police should reach well-in-advance before AGM, but police arrived only after clash.

Rajesh Brahmbhatt who represents Ajay Patel group told media that Girish Dani group member had told him that police would come only as per Dani group’s wish. Rajesh Bhrahmbhatt has alleged that his golden ring and chain were also snatched away by attackers.

According to Ajay Patel group, the stage of the meeting was set up at 30 ft distance from members apprehending protest.Chairs in first seven to eight lines were filled by Dani group with their own supporters as early as at 7.45 am, well ahead of the AGM’s 9.00 am scheduled time.

On the other hand, Girish Dani has described this incident as pre-planned plot. He said the club has CCTV footage and legal procedures will be done. He said the 108 ambulances had arrived outside the club well ahead of the clash.
