Gujarat Congress ,SIT chief, Gujart govt, Teesta react to the verdict(Videos)

As expected, the Gujarat Congress has not been able to digest today’s court verdict approving SIT closure report.

State Congress president Shri Arjun Modhwadia has in his statement termed today’s court verdict as shocking and unfortunate. Modhwadia has in his statement attacked Supreme Court appointed Special Investigation Team and his chief Shri Raghvan.

Meanwhile in his talk to media, SIT chief Raghavan said, “there are so many forces affected by this investigation by an outsider like me. Naturally I think some of them didn’t take kindly my appointment because I am from outside, I can not be influenced, I can not be persuaded to particular line. So there were these moments of despair. I say two forces the Supreme court and almighty which guided me and I am grateful.”

“I must place on record, both the government of India especially the ministry of Home Affairs, and government of Gujarat helped us.”

“The nation should know that we were given nine cases by the Supreme Court. We have got conviction in six cases. So many convicted to life, so many for long term of sentence. Three more cases, we may be able to get success. I thank almighty and Supreme Court.”

The Gujarat government has welcomed the court verdict. Gujarat government spokesperson minister Nitin Patel spoke to media and welcomed the verdict.

Applicant Zakia Jafri, her aide Teesta Javed Anand (Setalvad) and Zakia’s son Tanveer spoke to media persons and announced their decision to challenge the verdict in near future.
