Buzz in Amreli: Bavku Undhad may join BJP soon

Ahmedabad, 28 December 2013

There’s now strong buzz that Bavku Undhad, one of the most aggressive anti-Modi MLAs in Gujarat may leave Congress to join BJP next month.

Bavku Undhad, former BJP minister of state and present Congress MLA from Amreli district’s Lathi seat was originally a BJP man loyal to Keshubhai Patel in 1990s. He joined other anti-Modi rebels in 2000s and selected to join Congress party just before the 2007 polls of state assembly.

Contrary to other Modi baiters, Bavku Undhad successfully won Lathi seat in not only 2007 but also in 2012 assembly polls.

Hailing from Leuva Patel community, Undhad has been aggressive and outspoken anti-Modi leader in capacity of MLA.

As Kamurta period is going on at present in Gujarat, Bavku Undhad is likely to rejoin BJP anytime after Uttarayan(kite flying day) in middle of January 2014.

Undhad’s rejoining will be another good new for BJP in Amreli district. Vasant Gajera, Bechar Bhadani(former minister of state) and Nalin Kotadia(GPP MLA) have already rejoined BJP in this southern Saurashtra belt.Congress leader Suresh Kotadia too has rejoined BJP in this belt. BJP has won Dhari taluka panchayat body recently in mid-term poll.
