Krishnakant Vakharia leaves Congress to join AAP

Ahmedabad, 2 January 2014
Gujarat Congress’s Legal cell chief and senior lawyer Krishnakant Vakharaia has resigned from his post to join Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party(AAP).
Vakharia is also president of Vishwa Gujarati Samaj(VGS). Under his presidency, VGS constitution has changed several time in a manner that Vakharia can continue to be president of VGS forever. Recently an owner of major Gujarati newspaper tried to contest for the post of president of VGS. Soon he found that constitution of VGS was not allowing him to contest even.
Vakharia had contested election in Junagadh/Amreli belt of Saurashtra on Congress ticket in past, however he tasted defeat. Vakharia was Dhirubhai Ambani’s childhood friend.
Vakharia’s AAP venture will make no difference to either Congress or AAP. He will be one more face in AAP team in Gujarat.
Actually there’s such an atmosphere that anyone joining AAP gets big publicity in media. Those who were pushed to corner by their party or voters are taking benefit of this situation. Those who have no hope to get chance either in BJP or in Congress are also giving AAP a try.
