Ahmedabad, 7 January 2014
Senior BJP leader and one of the most respected journalists in India Shri Arun Shourie today called on Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi in Gujarat capital. Shri Shourie was accompanied by Rajendra Jain and some BJP workers from Delhi and Mumbai.
Shourie is in discussion in social media today for his interview to CNN-IBN news channel which is to be aired tonight at 10.30.
Shourie has in this interview said, “I am furious with this man. Everybody hoped so much from him. He has given good men a bad name. People will say get a crook let him do something. This man’s core competence is to deflect blame on others, on Raja, some secretary of coal, on the world economic situation. He has destroyed the basic pillar of governance in India and that is the Prime Minister.”
When told that Narendra Modi has a spotted record, Shourie asked, “In what sense?” The interviewer then described Modi as a polariser. To this Shourie replied, “these are words that the media invents.”
When asked once again the same repeated question on apology on 2002, Shourie replied, “Immediately people will say he is doing it for elections. The record is yes there was a breakdown and it has never happened again in Gujarat and I would hope that he would stand on that and not go in for this apology and so on that’s nonsense.”
