On the issues of minority and mining, Modi attacks Shinde,Natarajan

Panji, 12 January 2014

BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi today attacked union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and former union minister Jayanthi Natarajan.

“In last September the Indian Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde wrote a letter to all Chief Ministers, now recently he has said it again on TV and he said he is going to write letter again.”

“Tell me, shouldn’t there be same law and same treatment for all criminals? You will be surprised, the Indian home minister, thanks to vote-bank politics, has dared to write letter to the Chief Ministers asking them to not to catch Muslims for crime.”

“Any person if he is innocent he should get justice, or any person should not face injustice due to his faith, and this should be the stand. Treatment to criminals belonging to any faith should be same, and votebank politics must not be allowed.”

“And not only this, but law and order is state subject. Shriman Shindeji has no right to teach law and order to states sitting in Delhi. This hurts our federal system.”

Modi also attacked former union environment minister Jayanthi Natarajan for her alleged ‘Jayanti tax’ track record.

“For any country’s development, infrastructure, human resources and raw material are three important elements. We in Gujarat want to auction the cement mines, but union government doesn’t allow us. Thus we are prevented from offering healthy practices and cheaper cement availability. The central government should understand that the nation equally belongs to the states and the centre. Mining is on halt in Goa due to centre. We have heard varieties of taxes like income tax, excise etc, but here was a new tax in Delhi which was known as Jayanthi tax. Till the time we don’t pay this Jayanthi tax, file stop moving in Delhi. When elected to power, we will protect environment also, we will being transparency to mining and also will take steps to take the nation ahead in mining sector.”
