BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi was in Ahmeadbad to attend the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries event on Daughters day. In the evening she also addressed a press conference. The topic of her address was energy issues and centre’s stand on that.
However the question/answer round was full of the questions on BJP’s stand over Aam Aadmi Party(AAP). Meenakshi Lekhi replied all questions with clarity. The major point she made was that AAP is reincarnation of Congress party. She said like BSP, SP and others if you vote for AAP, your vote goes to Congress actually. She said Congress would not oppose AAP, and if BJP ignores it and doesn’t oppose then BJP gives clear ground to AAP. She said AAP’s clear agenda is that Narendra Modi should not become Prime Minister. She said how BJP can sit idle and not react to AAP’s stand on Kashmir, Maoism, economic policy and other issues of national importance?
Lekhi said every election is a fight and every opponent has to be fought out. She gave example of AAP leaders who have emerged from 10 Janpath through Sonia Gandhi-led National Advisory Council. Lekhi said Arvind Kejriwal was not transferred during his years long job in Indian Revenue Service. Kejriwal was not transferred on recommendation of Sonia Gandhi. This is the fact his website ‘India Against Corruption’ itself said.
Lekhi said AAP has shifted Congress’s vote bank. She said when their focus is only those places where BJP is strong, or BJP is likely to get benefit, it is clear that it is born against BJP.
Lekhi said media was not covering some people joining BJP.
