PIL against Modhwadia in Gujarat High Court

Ahmedabad, 30 January 2014

Gujarat Congress president Arjun Modhwadia was on Thursday issued notice by the State High Court in connection with a public interest litigation (PIL) that has alleged that Modhwadia had intruded upon a public road in Porbandar city causing inconvenience to the residents.

The PIL was filed by Prakash Unadkat who is a resident of Porbander. According to the petitioner’s lawyer – Pranav Dave, “Modhwadia and his brother, Ramdevbhai, have encroached upon a public road in Porbandar outside their residence by constructing a structure for their personal security personnel. The Chief Officer of Porbandar Nagarpalika had, in November 2013, given them notice to remove the encroachment. However, till date, the authorities have failed to remove the encroachment. And so, we have moved the PIL.”
