Highlights of Rahul Gandhi’s speech at Bardoli, Gujarat

As expected Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s rally in Bardoli today morning attracted good number of people. Ground reports suggest following could be the reasons behind good presence there:

-That Bardoli is represented in Lok Sabha for last three terms by Congress MP Dr. Tushar Chaudhary(Minister in centre), son of former Chief Minister of Gujarat Amarsinh Chaudhary.
-Christian Missionaries enjoy good presence in this tribal dominated belt. The only Christian MLA(from Congress) in the assembly is elected from Vyara which is the part of Bardoli Lok Sabha seat.
-Bordering Lok Sabha seat Valsad is also occupied by Congress MP.

Following are the highlights of Rahul Gandhi’s speech:

-This is the land of Sardar Patel and Mahatma Gandhi.

-Sardar and Gandhi gave Congress ideology.

-What is ideology? Love and harmony. To take everyone along.

-Gandhi and Sardar had done what they had promised making it clear that their ideology was based on truth.

-And today here is the leader in Gujarat who talks about Sardar Patel. He says we will make statue, but he doesn’t read history. He didn’t read any book on Sardar Patel or Gandhiji. He has no understanding on Sardar Patel.

-I want so speak what did he tell on Sardar and RSS.

-RSS is poisonous ideology that shall kill India’s fabric, said Sardar Patel.

-You(Modi) spent your life in RSS.

-He(Modi) has not read Sardar or Gandhiji. He wants to make a statue.

-Which ideology killed Gandhiji? Ideology of these people killed him. And what Sardar Patel proposed? He proposed ban on RSS.

-He(Modi) spent his whole life in RSS. Sardar Patel fought for Congress. He(Modi) didn’t think about that and now he(Modi) wants to make a statue.

-Whatever comes to his heart, either truth or untruth, he speaks on stage. He wishes Congress-free India. And I told that Congress party is not an organization, it’s an ideology. And Sardar and Gandhi gave their life for this ideology. And they(Modi) said this ideology has to be eliminated, and on the other hand he(Modi) wants to build statue.

-We haven’t give our life to RSS, our life is for Congress.

-He(Modi) speaks about corruption traveling across the nation. Don’t they see corruption in Gujarat? Congress gave you RTI in entire country. There should be 10 commissioners in RTI, but there’s one.When Court directed them they appointed others. We passed Lok Pal, and here they wasted Rs. 40 crore to prevent Lokayukta.

-How many convicted ministers are there in cabinet? They go to jail and become minister here. And when they talk about corruption, six bills are pending in parliament. We brought Lok Pal, we brought RTI. No-one extends support. I told them for thrice, Congress wants to pass the bills, come and speak with us. They refused.

-Who waived Rs. 70,000 crore debt of farmers? Congress. Who fought for Land bill? Congress.

-6,000 farmers committed suicide in Gujarat. 4,000 Punjab farmers came and told me they were shifted out of Gujarat, and Akalis are their(BJP’s) partners.

-Congress pulled out 14 crore people from poverty. This has never been happened before. And here Rs. 11 is a mark of poverty line, and 38 crore people are below poverty line.

-13,000 schools are closed in Gujarat, but will speak in rest of India about education and future, but will remain silent on Gujarat.

-We brought RTI, MNREGA, Food right, because we know you need to be empowered, and here only one person is empowered, and none other. The assembly functions for 10-15 days. This is the difference. We want to empower people.

-Our politics is your politics, it’s about farmer’s battle, tribal people’s battle. Gujarat has not poor people’s government. Here is rich people’s government. Five-six people run government and 55,000 small scale industrial units are closed. No-one will speak about that.

-Here are tribal people present in this meeting. Rs. 55,000 crore Van Bandhu Yojana package has been announced by the state government, but are you benefited? Not one single penny has been spent!

-42,000 crore Rs. package was announced during Sadbhavana. Some one filed RTI and came to know that money was not allotted contrary to what was promised!

-If there’s development here, it is due to sweat and blood of people. Gujarat has stood up due to its people, and one person takes credit.

-Entire India works, some do farming, some drive taxi, some make tea. We need to honor chai wala, kisan, majdoor, but not one who makes people fool.

Congress claims 2 lakh crowd

Gujarat Congress today claimed its leader Rahul Gandhi attracted 2 lakh strong crowd at Bardoli rally. Rahul walked Vikas Khoj Yatra and addressed a rally, but between that he also met three different delegations of Halpati community, sugar mill operators and Denotified Tribes.
