Rajiv Gandhi loyalist, Gujarat Congress Vice President likely to join BJP

Gujarat Congress vice president Surendra Rajput will join BJP with his son Saumil and thousands of supporters. Rajput is based in Ahmedabad. Rajput who was General Secretary of his college in 1970s started his political career through INTUC(Congress party’s labour union) and fought for workers who lost their jobs due to closure of mills. He was municipal Councillor during 1975-80. He was elected as MLA twice during 1980-90.
