Ahmedabad, 27 February 2014
As we reported earlier, Gujarat Congress has taken decision to hold dharna against each of its MLAs who recently submitted resignation to join rival BJP.
The dharna protests will be led by state party president and leader of opposition at each place.
On 2nd March, state party president and leader of opposition will led dharna at Mandvi municipality ground against elected MLA Prabhubhai Vasava’s resignation. Both the leaders will also remain present at another dharna programme at Naliya against resignation of partly MLA Chhabilbhai Patel.
Technically when MLA first resigns from assembly seat and then change his political loyalty, one can’t object it. Instead of dharna protests, Congress can better demonstrate its anger in upcoming by-elections by defeating those who left the party.
It should be mentioned here that Gujarat Congress has announced dharna programmes against its former MLAs following state party president and leader of opposition’s visit to Delhi on Wednesday.
