Lok Sabha elections 2014: 9 days of polling between 7 April-12 May, counting on 16 May, Gujarat to vote on 30th April

New Delhi, 5 March 2014

The Election Commission of India, today announced the dates of year 2014 Lok Sabha general elections. With this model code of conduct is effective. The elections will be conducted in 9 phases. Following are the details of the schedule.

7th April: 2 states, 6 seats
9th April: 5 states, 7 seats
10th April: 14 states, 92 seats
12th April: 3 states, 5 seats
17th April: 13 states and UT and 122 seats
24th April: 12 states and 117 seats
30th April: 9 states and 89 seats
7th May: 7 states and 64 seats
12th May: 3 states, 41 seats

In Gujarat, the Lok Sabha polls will be held in single phase on 30th April. By-elections of state assembly will also be held on same day.

Issue of notification: 2 April 2014
Last date of filling nominations: 9 April 2014
Scrutiny of nominations: 10 April 2014
Last date of withdrawal of candidature: 12 April
Date of poll: 30th April 2014

Counting to take place on 16th May.
