Conviction and role-playing

Ahmedabad, 13 March 2014

So Arvind Kejriwal today morning on twitter denied this media report. He told Times of India(TOI), “this is a completely false story. A newspaper of the stature of TOI should avoid publishing such unsubstantiated stories.”

It looks like the said meeting between Kejriwal and stock brokers/fund managers took place in absence of video cameras, and therefore there’s nothing to prove whether Kejriwal was right or this report, but credibility of U-turn champion Mr. Arvind Kejriwal is so low these days that the newspaper version sounds more believable.

If you remember, Mr. Kejriwal in his recent interview with Dainik Bhaskar said, “Naturally, aaj Modi ko leke ek hawa to hai desh ki andar, use nakara nahi ja sakta.”

But later in his almost all speeches he said, “Modi ki koi lahar nahi hain…...” This video presented below throws more light on that. The clip has been taken from Dainik Bhaskar’s official Youtube channel.

For the sake of their roji-roti(which is full-time politics), political leaders (like Arvind and others) have to speak something in public, but its impact is not felt because they don’t speak it with conviction. They just play their role. So in one-to-one frank talk with Dainik Bhaskar sitting at his government allotted house’s lawn, Kejriwal opens up and tells one thing(conviction), but at party rally, he merely plays a role(of leader of political party that’s in fight with Modi)and he tells something else. While conviction is real and pure, what we call role-playing is necessary for career, money, relevance and other gains.

Yesterday we watched Ram Krupal Yadav’s interview. Yadav was like no.2 in Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Rasthriya Janata Dal(RJD). Later he joined BJP. He was giving TV interview yesterday evening after joining BJP. When he was reminded how he had criticized Narendra Modi when he was in RJD, Yadav replied he was merely playing his role as RJD leader when he criticized Modi.

Even Ram Vilas Paswan, Gordhan Zadafia and others when were reminded about their statements against Modi in the past, said same that they were just playing their role. Guess one day Kejriwal will say same.

Coming back to starting point of this story, Kejriwal could deny the TOI report because he was sure that the meeting in Mumbai took place without video recording. But Kejriwal’s colleague in party Meera Sanyal, Gula Panag or Yogendra Yadav are not that lucky.

Meera Sanyal, AAP candidate from Mumbai(South) Lok Sabha wrote series of blog posts on layers of development she witnessed in rural Gujarat during her visit. When Kejriwal recently visited Gujarat and started criticizing the state of affair here, Meera Sanyal’s year 2012 tweets(conviction) were massively re-tweeted on twitter to contradict Kejriwal’s role playing.

One of the top AAP leaders Yogendra Yadav on CNBC had praised Gujarat’s development(conviction). The video is regularly in circulation these days on social media sites to expose Yadav’s present role playing exercise.

AAP candidate Gul Panag had tweeted NaMo for PM(conviction). Her tweet is now in circulation on twitter to make a point that she’s just into role-playing now.

During the Delhi assembly elections AAP’s fourth internal survey showed that most of Kejriwal’s supporters — 31% — were also rooting for Modi as the next PM of this country ( http://www.thehindu.com/news/cities/Delhi/kejriwal-supporters-want-modi-as-prime-minister/article5417509.ece ). The figure could be double or more in present circumstances. And please note it down, the call of conviction and role-playing both suggest, these voters are going to vote for Modi this time.
