Baba Ramdev sulks, halts support to BJP/NDA for now

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Friday made U-turn and said he is nobody’s slave and may rethink on his support to the NDA and the BJP only after getting written support on issues. Reacting to Baba’s remarks, Congress leader Satpal Maharaj said, if Baba Ramdev wants his people to get BJP tickets then he should formally join BJP.

Baba said: We will seek in writing, that on which terms we support BJP and NDA. If their top leadership agrees, and two-three people oppose, we will protest. So, we now are not satisfied with their oral assurance. And only after they support our issues in writing, we will step ahead. We told it on first day itself that our support would be issue based. We will seek written support on issues, and when they take pledge to fight corruption with full honesty, then only we will be able to step ahead, presently there’s lot of garbad. Their all candidates for Lok Sabha will be asked to give in writing.Otherwise we are nobody’s slave, there is no lack of options in politics.

When asked about option, he said he could form his own morcha(Political outfit) also.

Meanwhile while reacting to Baba’s remarks, Congress leader Satpal Maharaj said, “if Baba Ramdev wants his people to get BJP tickets then he should formally join BJP.”
