Narendra Modi’s big achievement in election season so far

New Delhi, 16 March 2014

Yesterday when TV channels were interviewing common people on street in Varanasi to get their reaction on Narendra Modi’s candidature, one gentleman standing with his wife and kid said he wishes Narendra Modi to get elected because Varanasi has not witnessed development for last many decades. This gentleman further said Modi will bring development here. He said Modiji’s importance is such that Rahul Gandhi and Kejriwal always keep talking about him.

This last line has to be underlined. Let’s explain it.

Today our national news channels are running two headlines. And as it happens regularly, our print media will follow and do the same tomorrow. While one headline features Rahul Gandhi’s interview to PTI, the other headline is about Arvind Kejriwal’s campaign rally in Bangalore.

As we see, Kejriwal’s speech is worth noticing because he says something about how he is going to challenge Narendra Modi. Same way, Rahul Gandhi’s interview is worth reporting because he expresses his opinion on Narendra Modi.

In fact Kejriwal in his tweet today morning said: “Many people asking me – “will i contest against Modi ji?” I will talk on this issue in today’s rally at Bangalore”.

So, the hidden part of this tweet, or say motive of this tweet was….. therefore please come to cover my rally live on your news channel, as there’s something mentioning Modi.

And yesterday Rahul Gandhi tried google hangout to discuss the elections with party office bearers. And what his party workers asked Rahul over live video chat? They asked how Congress woulds stop Narendra Modi!

And next day, the same question is headline in entire print media.

If Dr. Manmohan Singh is somewhat important(as he is the Prime Minister at present, if you have not forgotten), his last press conference was also in news for what he said against Narendra Modi.

The point is, Narendra Modi has successfully placed himself as the center point of Indian politics. We remember how during year 2009 Lok Sabha general elections, ‘Secular shaktiya’ was the center point of Indian politics and pre-election,election,post-election political activities revolved around it.

This election, the attempts and efforts to place Rahul Gandhi or Arvind Kejriwal as center point are continuously failing so far, just because both of them lack substance. Yes, both of them have some advantages, but lack of substance fail them. Most of the time they are relevant and discussed, only because they challenge Modi in words through their position(not their substance). This way, both of them help Modi to continue to be the center point of Indian politics and Indian elections at this time.

Purely speaking about perception, at times it feels Narendra Modi is people’s prime minister while Dr. Manmohan Singh is someone who’s just holding Prime Minister’s office. Didn’t we feel same when Pratibha Patil was made President of this country, and Kalam was described as people’s President? We precisely remember one TV footage in which a child said, ‘Kalam is India’s president’, and this happened around year and half after Pratibha Patil was installed as President.

Just couple of lines on ‘Secular shaktiya’ which was the center point of Indian politics during last Lok Sabha elections. This fake political pseudo secularism is on death-bed at present. Didn’t India watch, how Ram Vilas Paswan, Ram Krupal Yadav or even a Chief Minister from north-eastern state(Nagaland) backed Modi recently?
