Gandhinagar, 18 March 2014

The last round of meeting of Gujarat BJP parliamentary board is over. The meeting was held at Chief Minister’s residence.

According to the details of the meeting shared by Vijaybhai Rupani who was also part of the meeting Gujarat BJP has taken decision to invite Shri LK Advani to contest Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat. Gujarat BJP will ask central parliamentary board to field Shri LK Advani from Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat.

Rupani said, the state BJP will also ask central leadership to field Narendrabhai from Gujarat, as it is the feeling of six crore Gujaratis. He said the decision to field Modi from Varanasi is strategic, but then Modi’s development model has evolved from Gujarat. Rupani said both states will be benefited from Narendrabhai’s candidature.

Rupani said, when it comes to Modi and Adavni’s candidature, the final decision will be taken after special discussion in central election committee.

He said party will send three-names panel for seats. CEC meeting in Delhi will discuss advantage of each person in three names panel.

Some of the details coming out from BJP camp suggest that while for other 25 seats party has made 3-name panel, for 26th seat Gandhinagar party has forwarded only L K Advani’s name. Advani is sitting MP of Gandhinagar and during his recent Ahmedabad visit he wished to contest again from Gandhinagar seat.
