I’m not outsider, my ancestors were from Kutch, clarifies Congress candidate

Bhuj, 23 March 2014

“I’m not outsider, my ancestors were from Rapar area of Kutch,” said Congress candidate on Kutch seat(SC reserved) Dr. Dinesh Parmar.

Parmar was welcomed at district party headquarters in Bhuj in presence of local Congress workers. However district party president Navalsinh Jadeja was absent on this occasion. It was later conveyed to media and Navalsinh was visiting Ahmedabad to confim his ticket for Abadasa assembly by-poll which is scheduled to take place on 30th April.

Earlier around two dozen Dalit office bearers representing Congress party in panchayats and municipalities had submitted their resignations against “outsider” Dinesh Parmar’s candidature. Dinesh Parmar belongs to Jamnagar. Local Dalit Congress workers wanted someone local to get party ticket.

Kutch Lok Sabha seat is presently represented by BJP’s Punamben Jat. BJP has dropped Punamben and selected other candidate to contest on Kutch seat.
