Ahmedabad, 23 March 2014
Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi today appealed his followers to not to use the slogan “Har Har Modi…”.
In his tweet Modi said: Some enthusiastic supporters are using slogan “Har Har Modi…” I respect their enthusiasm but request not to use this slogan in the future.
It should be mentioned that Congress sympathizer Dwarka Shankaracharya Swaroopanand Saraswati had opposed the use of ‘Har Har Modi’ slogan. He had spoken to Sarasanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat and asked him to stop such slogans.
Hindus popularly use ‘Har Har Mahadev’ slogan to show their devotion to Mahadev Shankar.
It has to be mentioned that Varanasi’s Batuk Bhairav mandir mahant Vijay Puri, Vishwanath Mandir archak Shrikant Mushra, Sumeru peeth etc had also when asked by media opined that Har Har Modi slogan is not proper.
Some enthusiastic supporters are using slogan "Har Har Modi…" I respect their enthusiasm but request not to use this slogan in the future.

There is utterly nothing objectionable in the slogan "Har Har Modi". Har is destroyer of evil & Modi is the destroyer of evil of our times!

The outrage over Har Har Modi, is bogus. It is inspired by a Shankaracharya who is a stooge of Congress.
