Pratibha Advani kicks start campaign in favor of her father

LK Advani’s daughter Pratibha Advani today started campaign for her father in Ahmedabad’s Memnagar, Bopal and Ambli areas that are part of Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat. She was accompanied by Revenue minister Anandiben Patel who is MLA from one of the constituencies in Ahmedabad which comes under Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat. Both Anandiben and Pratibha stood up in an open vehicle and held road show with number of bikes.

It has to be mentioned that Gandhinagar and Kalol towns traditionally don’t give lead to Advani. Most of the votes in Advani’s favour come from western Ahmedabad areas and Sanand belt. Pratibha Advani was last seen in Ahmedabad five years back in 2009 in same role. When asked about her father’s initially refusal to contest from Gandhinagar seat, Pratibha said her father never could say no to Gandhinagar. Pratibha said she will stay with her father during campaign and rallies in Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar.

It should be mentioned that Dainik Bhaskar newspaper had published a story that Advani wanted to contest from Bhopal, because he wanted his daughter to get ticket from there in future and he was unsure whether Gandhinagar seat would be given to his daughter in future.

In 2009 elections, Advani’s son Jayant also campaigned for his father through door to door campaign along with sister Pratibha.
