Ahmedabad, 29 March 2014
Congress party’s Vadodara candidate Madhusudan Mistry today addressed a joint press conference with Gujarat Congress president Arjun Modhwadia at Gujarat Congress headquarters in Ahmedabad. Mistry has been selected as Congress’s candidate on Vadodara Lok Sabha seat against BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi.
Mistry said, “I have always taken stand against Narendra Modi, but since long time I was waiting to have a direct fight against him. I am happy that I have got an opportunity to fight directly against him now.”
He further said, “about Narendra Modi’s remark that Congress candidate (Narendra Rawat)elected through party’s internal election was asked to withdraw because he was Dalit, I want to say that he is provoking the feelings of Dalits and trying to get some votes. He is playing politics of casteism. I criticize such act of attempts go get votes by mentioning the name of some caste of religion. Similarly when he describes someone as Pakistani agent or when he uses the term ‘Shehzada’, it reflects communal divide hidden in his mind.Modi is wearing the mask of development, but inside his mind is communal, divisive mindset.”
Madhusudan Mistry said his fight against Modi on Vadodara seat will not be a token, symbolic fight. He will fight will full force.
Mistry said Modi will lose the polls at both places – in Varanasi and Vadodara.
When asked how he would be able to give justice to his Uttar Pradesh tasks(Mistry is incharge of Uttar Pradesh state for Congress), Mistry said Congress has enough talents to do that task. He said he will be back to his Uttar Padesh job after polling in Gujarat is over(on 30th April).
Mistry said he has completed his college in Vadodara and he can connect to voters in any part of Gujarat.
Mistry said UPA will again form government in centre and Opinion polls will prove wrong like year 2004 and 2009.
