Narendra Modi’s interviews to two Gujarati news channels(Videos)

Ahmedabad, 26 April 2014

NDA’s prime ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi has given interviews to two Gujarati news channels; Sandesh News and Gujarat Samachar Television(GSTV).

Parts of Modi’s Sandesh News interview were shown on over two dozen other channels mainly for Modi’s reply on a question about Dawood Ibrahim’s arrest.

Present union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde while speaking to media persons announced time and again the government’s move to bring back Dawood Ibrahim. When asked about this, Modi said: Did America issue a press release that it is going to eliminate Bin Ladel on certain date? Should Shinde call press conference to announce India’s plan to bring back Dawood? He has not minimum level of maturity.

Modi’s another interview was to GSTV. When asked about his projection as prime ministerial candidate, Shri Modi said slogans attached to leader were used during Indira Gandhi era too. Elections are fought like this. Just search the records of past elections. There’s nothing in Congress’s godown to show this time, therefore they are not projecting a PM candidate.

In reply to another question, Modi said Congress party has lost its relevance. Modi said Mahatma Gandhi himself had talked about put an end to Congress party, and he was right. There’s no relevance of Congress party at present.

Modi said Delhi should not play a role of giver, and states should not be treated as entity on receiving end. Both centre and states should work as team, and that is the right spirit.

Modi objected phrase of Guru-Chela to describe Advani-Modi relation.

Modi’s interview on Sandesh News was taken by channel head Vivek Bhatt, while GSTV interview was taken by senior in-house reporter Dilip Gohil.

Gujarat is going to polling on 30th April.
