Central government today told the Supreme Court that they don’t intend to set up panel to probe alleged snooping of a woman in Gujarat.
A woman and her father had approached Supreme Court against probe after union minister in his recent press conference announced that the government will appoint judge to probe alleged snooping before 16 May.
The Gujarat government has already appointed a commission which is functional for several months.
As woman’s father also wanted state appointed inquiry commission to drop an inquiry for privacy and other reasons, the Supreme Court directed him to approach the Gujarat High Court in this regard and refused to give stay on state appointed commission’s inquiry.
