Samir Mehta is new Chairman of Rs 4200 crore Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd, the company of Torrent Group. Outgoing Chairman Sudhir Mehta who is elder brother of Samir Mehta will take the position of Chairman Emeritus after Annual General Meeting in July.

Torrent Pharmaceuticals was founded by his father late Mr U N Mehta, father of Sudhir and Samir Mehta. Samir Mehta(MBA) has been associated with Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd since 1986. He played important role in establishing Torrent Pharma’s international markets such as Brazil, Germany and USA. Currently, international business accounts to about 60% of the total revenue of the company.
