Modi’s some calculations about his team in government will need to be reworked as Shri Arun Jaitley has surprisingly lost his first Lok Sabha election in Amritsar in Punjab against former Punjab Chief Minister.
Jaitley’s election to Lok Sabha could result into his resignation from Rajya Sabha seat in Gujarat.
Modi could have someone in mind to fit in that vacated Rajya Sabha seat. Someone who could be part of Modi’s team in Delhi.
Modi could also have some role in mind for Arun Jaitley in Lok Sabha itself.
Shri Jaitley is sitting Rajya Sabha MP. He will be made a minister, and as a minister he will sit in Lok Sabha too.
Modi could have someone in mind to contest from Vadodara Lok Sabha seat which he is likely to vacate to retain Varanasi seat in Uttar Pradesh.
If Jaitley has to be in Lok Sabha, Vadodara can be delivered to him. Or as a Rajya Sabha MP, Shri Jaitley can still play all roles planned for him. There’s absolutely no issue with it.
