Following is Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia’s statement on BJP’s victory(translated to English)
When results of Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat are against expectations, Gujarat Congress President Shri Arjun Modhwadia accepted moral responsibility and told media persons that victory and lose do happen in elections, we accept people’s opinion. UPA government awarded rights to common people during its ten years rule. We couldn’t do enough to take the details of UPA government’s historical performance to people. We humbly accept the verdict of people in Lok Sabha elections. I congratulate BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Shri Narendrabhai Modi for ensuring victory for BJP led NDA in Lok Sabha elections. Congress party will continue to work, accepting people’s verdict to sit in opposition. The party thanks wide support of people against those who changed the party – in favor of Congress candidates.
