Peak period of summer, even roads are melting(photo)
May 31, 2014

This photo published in Surat based Gujarati daily Gujarat Mitra shows intensity of heat in this peak period of summer in Gujarat. The surface of asphalt road is literally melting. Temperature in most parts of Gujarat has been above 42 this week. It’s like ‘no pain, no gain’ because extreme summer is precursor for a good monsoon. If it’s normal year, the schedule of monsoon in Gujarat generally begins from 15th of June. However often the monsoon kicks off late. For now it’s time for Keri no ras and Baraf no golo(which is made of ice and flavored syrup but costs more than milk ice cream, and at many places people queue up to have baraf no golo.).
