RTO in Gujarat now offers online facility to watch list of all new registration numbers.

The numbers of new vehicles in Gujarat are allotted as per random computerized system by RTO. Which vehicle will get which number can’t be determined in advance therefore.

However RTO has declared a procedure of allotment of favorite number to vehicle as per the wish of owner through auction. A new series number is allotted to vehicle owner on first-come basis for Rs. 5,000 for car and Rs. 1,000 for two-wheelers.

A list of numbers available for allotment has been put online by RTO – Ahmedabad, ARTO – East Ahmedabad and ARTO – Gandhinagar on www.rtogujarat.gov.in website in PDF format. Vehicle owners can check availability of their favorite number online and can try to get it for their vehicle next day by visiting RTO.

More details on this will be featured on screen display at RTO offices. Visitors can receive details by using touch screen kiosks at RTO.

It has to be noted here that in year 2013-14, RTO earned Rs. 50 crore revenue through scheme of favorite number allotment/auction.
